This band is made up of Sergio Hernandez (guitar), Daniel Corpus (vocals), Angel (bass), and Omar (drums). Their biggest singles right now is Caballo de Mar and Quetzal. These very enthusiastic chicos make up the band Flamél and they consider themselves a band from El Paso that plays space rock. Not everyone sees it that way because people compare them to a wide variety of musicians and bands. They are all from El Paso, Texas yet the band plays music in Spanish and what happens is that it creates some sort of identity "crisis". They will play shows in El Paso yet be considered the band from Juarez and vice-versa. However, this doesn't stop the guys from wanting to play what they want and instead they want to defy standards.
Flamél was started by Daniel and Angel in 2013 when they grabbed some inspiration for the band's name from the French Alchemist, Nicolas Flamel, which was the first to discover the philosopher's stone. Angel mentioned, "We are together but not mixed up. Flamél is a little bit of everything and that is why we identify with the philosopher's stone. We all listen to different styles of music, so this all has to do with how we go about and make it." The vast variety of each of these musicians help incorporate the style that is Flamél. The musical taste for these guys range from rock in Spanish to reggae to indie. This gives it a unique flare to the band. I asked the guys who their music influences were for the band and they responded with, "Caifanes has been our biggest influence. We'd say we are a mix of Caifanes and Porter, but some people say we are like the bastard child of The Strokes and Zoé." The way Sergio put it was "Somos el hijo del lechero." Flamél played at the battle of the bands, round 1 for the Juarez Music Fest and they also played at Neon Desert Music Festival. These guys have a lot of stuff going on, that future projects are inevitable. Angel mentioned that they are going to start making singles and release videos for them. They had actually not contemplated playing at festivals, but it happens. They plan on releasing "one single every six months" and hope to record it at Sonic Ranch. I asked Angel and Sergio what songs they recommend to their fans (which also represent the band) and they said: 1. Miercoles de Cenizas- Caifanes 2. Murcielago -Porter 3. Let it happen- Tame Impala 4. Popscuro- Clubz 5. La Luna -Little Jesus Their first album, Flamél vol. 1 is available on all media platforms. Go follow them on Instagram: flamel_mx Thank you guys! Best luck and can't wait for all the new singles!

They say when the people you love are in front of you, a part of your brain lights up and it signals your whole body to feel better. Even if you are hungry or in pain, you won't feel it. So next time anyone refers to you as "desert of my eye", you don't need to ask again if he meant "dessert" or "desert". It doesn't matter. Anyone who calls you like that really looks at you as someone special. You maybe the only one he looks at as his only reason to be alive as of the moment.

It is desert as in desierto... Look at the cactus in the logo. It is pretty obvious.
