If you have ever been to Lowbrow Palace, you would know that Nico and the Silent Films play there often mostly opening for other bands. If I could describe this band it would be California beach vibes. I love it. Just recently this band won the local Battle of the Bands and they are excited to announce that they are working on new material. The following interview happened casually at Lowbrow after they played and Savoy Motel was on. It's safe to say we were al pretty excited to see The Lemon Twigs. We went to the front of Lowbrow where the band huddled around me.
1. How long have you guys been together? How did the band start?
N&SF: "We've been together as a band and as "Nico" for a year and three months. We had separate bands, old bands and the two of us started jamming together and the rest came along."
2.Recently, you guys won battle of the bands. How does that feel? What are your plans after this?
N&SF: "We hope to play Neon Desert after this and we are waiting on the call form Sonic Ranch (recording studio) so we could go and record. Neon Desert is the biggest thing, trying get mercy out there."
3.Are you all El Paso natives? Favorite hang out place her?
N&SF: "Yes (except one but mostly grew up in El Paso) Lowbrow is our favorite place. We have been hanging a lot here lately."
4. Routine before a show?
N&SF: "Meditate, drinking, and listening to happy music like The Beach Boys. Kanye is another one and stuff we don't play."
5. Do you guys purposely go for a beach Cali sound or is it accidental?
N&SF: "It's a  good vibe. We relate it to California because it's paradise. It's about trying to sound good and was not on purpose."
"My favorite place to be is the beach so maybe that is why it come out that way. There is new material coming out with all kinds of influences."
6. What influences?
N&SF: "We have a lot of jazz , surf rock and psychedelic rock influences.
7. Who are your influences?
N&SF: "Cold train, Django Reinhardt. The 60s shaped a lot of my music."
8.Is your music readily available?
N&SF: " We have demos on Soundcloud for now."

The band was nice and were so open. They want to let their fans know that they love them and thank them for all the support. They hope fans will continue sticking with them and hope they are ready for the new material "Stay happy, stay humble."
