"There is nothing to do in El Paso"

The phrase above is something that I have heard all my life, however, I feel like I have been hearing it more often. Honestly, ever since starting this website I can't keep up with events on both sides of the border! This past weekend the Festival Sin Fronteras took place at Juárez and I could not go because there is so much going on, which is why I have a "problem" with that statement. If you ever find yourself thinking "there is nothing to do" then I have a few suggestions that way you and your friends are connected to different events and/or activities going on on both sides of the borders:
  • Follow the Instagram's of your local bars whether they are located in El Paso or Juárez they often post about events or specials going on. Some of these bars are venues for small shows so....... catch a live show and take a drink! There is ALWAYS a show going on!
  • Visit a local café!
  • Visit your local art gallery! (for example Dream Chasers Club in El Paso changes their exhibit every month)
  • Visit your local museum! Their exhibits change too!
  • Visit the famous Kentucky Bar and Grill in Juárez! (Did you know the original margaritas were invented there?!)
  • It's baseball season!
  • There are delicious local restaurants in El Paso and Juárez!! Ask for their food specials or whether they have a special dish that is off the menu!
  • Neon Desert Music Festival is coming up and so is Juárez Music Fest!
  • Lowbrow Palace always has weekly shows follow them and stay tuned!
  • I recommend that you follow the Instagram accounts of local artists and art collectives on both sides of the border! They always have something going on and many time participate in art shows! #supportlocal
  • Catch a local band play!
  • The Municipal Rose Garden in El Paso is great too! Hellooooo.....spring is almost over and it's the perfect time to go visit.

The list can go on! If you still feel like there is nothing to do, then DM us at @desertofmyeye for suggestions!!  Thank you and enjoy!! Hope this helped a little. -Pao.
